This privacy policy applies between you and YGP who takes privacy of your information seriously. This policy applies to Data collected by us or provided to you in relation to you being a Member of YGP.
In this privacy policy the following definitions are used:
- Personal Data means collectively all information that you submit to YGP. This definition incorporates, where applicable, the definitions provided in GDPR;
- GDPR means the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and Data Protection Act 2018;
- Member means anyone that signs up to be a participant in YGP.
- We, Us, Our, YGP or the YGP refers to The Young Ghanaian Professionals.
- You means the individual accessing the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.
- Services means the following:
YGP Connects, provides communication platforms such as YGP social, YGP promotions and advertisement that allows members to exchange business and relevant information as a source of help. YGP paid services, cannot issue refund after purchase of sale.
YGP members have access to purchase information and support at Free30mins.com.
Exclusive Future invitations and collaboration meetups with Celebrating Africa and Young African Professional groups.
- Social media refers to any websites and applications that enables Members or users to create and share content and participate in social networking. This includes but is not limited to WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Meetup,YGP live events.
- Website means www.ygpconnect.com and any sub-domains of this site unless expressly excluded by their own terms and conditions.
In this privacy policy, unless the context requires a different interpretation, the singular includes the plural and vice versa.
We collect information when you sign up to become a Member of YGP and any content you create or share.
The types of Personal Data that YGP collects can include:
- Your name, gender, birthday;
- Your contact details (email address, mobile number and other social media contact details); Heritage;
- Location;
- Your professional activities and occupation;
Current interests and activities;
- Contact preferences.
You do not have to provide any personal data, though if you do not, it may limit your ability to grow and engage with other Members within YGP’s platform.
We may obtain some information from publicly available sources, such as open posts on social media such as, Facebook, Meetup, Instagram and LinkedIn.
We use your data to stay connected with everyone in YGP connect network and to provide you with the best possible service and experience in YGP.
YGP will use your information for internal record keeping, sending advertising and marketing materials and providing information about our Services.
We will contact you through email, mobile phone, notices posted on our websites or other apps.
We also enable communications between you and other Members, for instance, allowing you to share career or business opportunities between yourselves.
YGP will not share any personal data with other Members of the YGP or third parties, without your consent.
Please note, when you share an article or a post (for example, an update, image, audio, video or article) within any of YGP’s WhatsApp Groups, Instagram, Facebook and websites this can be viewed by everyone in YGP and re-shared anywhere. YGP from time to time, may use this information shared to provide a better Service and experience for its Members.
YGP securely stores your data and have in place appropriate and necessary technical and organisational measures to safeguard and secure your personal data.
We endeavour to do our best to protect your Personal Data. However, transmission of information over the internet is not entirely secure and is done at your own risk. Once we receive your data, we make every effort to ensure its security on our systems.
We will hold your personal data for as long as you remain connected as a Member of YGP.
We generally retain your personal data for as long as you are a member of YGP. This includes data You or others have provided to us. For personal data that we have about You, You have the right to request the following:
- Change or Correct Data: You can request to edit some of your personal data by emailing contacting us using the contact information below. You can also ask us to change, update or fix your data, if you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request YGP to complete the information you believe is incomplete.
- Delete Data: You can ask us to erase or delete all or some of your personal data (e.g. if you no longer wish to be contacted or be a Member of YGP).
- Object to, or Limit or Restrict, Use of Data: You can ask us to stop processing all or some of your personal data (e.g. if we have no legal right to keep using it) or to limit our use of it (e.g. if your personal data is inaccurate or unlawfully withheld).
- Right to Access and/or Take Your Data: You can ask for a copy of your personal data.

These terms and conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England
and Wales and any disputes arising hereunder shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court of England and Wales.
This Privacy Policy is constantly under review and may be updated periodically. We will indicate at the top of the privacy policy when it was last updated.
